Baptist Confessional Paper Free Essays

When contrasting one thing with the other there will consistently be contrasts and likenesses this is the essitanial part of looking at. For reasons for this paper, the two Anabaptist admissions, which will be taken a gander at, are as per the following. The New Hampshire Baptist Confession and the Free-Will Baptist Confession. We will compose a custom article test on Baptist Confessional Paper or on the other hand any comparable point just for you Request Now The Basis of the New Hampshire Confession lays on the Calvinistic perspective on philosophy refrains the Free-Will Baptist whose establishment is established in the Armenian parts of religious philosophy. The very center of the contrasts between these two admissions lies in the places of Armenian and Calvin religious philosophy, which will be the focal point of this paper. An additional distinction, which warrants a brief period is the position the Free Will, took from the New Hampshire on the perspective on Ordinances of the congregation. Wrapping up will concentrate on how doctrinal contrasts between the two will influence the developments in their effective reaches. Precept on God The focal point of religious philosophy begins with a glance at God, what His identity is and how He reacts to those He has made. The perspective on God an individual picks will coordinate the progression of the progression of the person’s religious philosophy. This being said the conversation would begin with God. The New Hampshire Baptist (NHB) accepted that God knew all things and in this way new precisely what might happen even before it happened on the grounds that He decided it that way. The NHB saw God as having total and express sway over all creation. It is under this idea the NHB accepted that God realized the individuals who might decided to turn into His choose from the evil idea of humankind. The NHB took a gander at this as an overflowing of God to all that would decide to live for Him. The NHB took a gander at this as God’s â€Å"eternal reason. One of the zones this admission doesn't make reference to is the reason God picks one over another. God political decision is exclusively founded on His decency and blessedness, that He would be celebrated by His inclination. God puts His brilliance over everything in so much He orders there will be no other God before Him. Then again, the Free-Will Baptist (FWB) trusts God doesn't destine individuals to be called to Him. FWB trus ts God just appoints the closures, not the center, or the methods. The FWB trusts God gives mankind a kind of intensity. This force would be viewed as unrestrained choice. Through and through freedom or the ability to pick and hence figure out what things may drop by the hand of man. The FWB trust God oversees by† moral law and motives† men were thought of as being able to realize the closures He wanted. FWB couldn't see how a man could be liable for his activity in the event that he doesn't have the opportunity to make prospects based on his very own preference. FWB endeavors to separate the idea of the NHB and the possibility of God having prescience of everything sections His foreordination of all things. The FWB accepts that everything is with God from the earliest starting point as far as possible. The FWB trust God’s information on the occasions doesn't make them occur, the FWB likewise accept that not all the things God realizes will occur. FWB realizes that God is omniscience yet they preclude His foreordination from securing everything, for example, the HHB does. The FWB have a comprehension to which makes God in some ward of the animal or creation. They likewise have an issue with God’s premonition and His foreordination and couldn't break separated the security between them. Albeit both expected to characterize God’s transcendence. God realizes what will occur and what will make thing occur, subsequently while He knows a portion of the happenings, He additionally comprehends what will be required should we need an exit plan. FWB centers around God’s eagerness to follow up on specific things or respond and permit history to unfurl as it would. The Nature of Man The NHC admission of Faith accepts the fall of man from a condition of satisfaction and fellowship with God is because of the through and through freedom of man. Because of this fall, mankind is isolated from God and subsequently bound to an interminable passing without pardon on account of its own decision. This thought tracks with Calvinism’s regulation of Total Depravity. Despite the fact that the NHC falls along the lines of Calvinism there are many parts of the regulation they didn't follow, for example, man’s profound deadness, dark personalities dim hearts, and shackles to sin, just as man’s ineptitude to change. Then again, the FWB constructs their confidence upon the presupposition that God gives each man unrestrained choice. FWB accept that despite the fact that this through and through freedom made men fall that by a similar unrestrained choice men can decide to change their current state by Christ. The FWB human studies is firmly connected inside their attitude toward Christology, with its emphasis on Atonement of Jesus. Compensation The NHB hold firmly to the establishment of â€Å"full penance. † The NHB accept that offer reparations was a two section idea which included a general and a constrained region. The general part took the position that Christ penance was adequate for the salvation all mankind. The restricted territory was effective for just the choose of God. NHB held that Christ knew whom He was giving His life for, and these couple of were by a wide margin and huge secure in their salvation. The FWB held an exceptional spot in the admission of confidence when talking about salvation. The thought can be summarized in the accompanying words â€Å"The call of the Gospel is co-broad with the penance to all me, birth by word and the endeavoring of the Spirit, so salvation is rendered similarly conceivable to all; and if any fall flat of everlasting life, the shortcoming is entirely his own†. The FWB held to the conviction men would be changed to a point where they would have the option to decide for themselves salvation. At the point when Christ gave His life this provided the salvation to those that would accept, yet the expiation would not be applied to this salvation. The main way the utilization of Christ’s compensation would be set on a man once he had faith in Christ as Lord and guardian angel then through the Spirit the penance would apply to this individual. The Influence of the Holy Spirit NHB hold quick to the conviction that God’s effortlessness starts the recovery procedure through the operations of the Holy Spirit inside the individual. The blessing is offered uninhibitedly to the individuals who pick a relationship with God. God declares all together for some individuals to hear the expression of God and along these lines know about salvation to all that would acknowledge this call by the Holy Spirit. The NHB additionally stick to the way that the individuals who will keep on dismissing the advancing of the Spirit upon their souls would not be compelled to live for God. One of the conventions of the HNB would follow that God couldn't care less to follow individuals along these lines. FWB have a standpoint with the end goal that to state God cherishes those of His choose not quite the same as those outside His choose would strike up a contention. The FWB trust God’s compensation is equivalent for all individuals and thusly His calling upon the hearts of man are equivalent. God would put individuals in places where they are confronted with the choice to call upon Him for expiation yet the genuine getting some distance from self and acknowledgment of amends is men alone. God can't pick the correct choice or an inappropriate choice in the tenet of the FWB. Diligence of the Saints The NHB like some other category will follow its teachings to their obvious end results. Accepting is â€Å"wrought in our souls† due to the recovering Spirit of God’s work inside His choose is â€Å"wholly of grace† then the conservation of those choose in a condition of salvation is totally founded on the intensity of God. On the off chance that God needs, you spared then you will be spared. Then again, the FWB hold quick to their regulation to which on the off chance that the demonstration of accepting originates from a man’s scarcely any will, at that point his decision to stay in the salvation state is likewise from his through and through freedom. An ad spot from their tenet characterizes it clearly† future submission and last salvation are neither decided nor sure, since through ailment and complex allurement they are at risk for falling. † The Sacraments The NHB state in their admission there are just two statutes they hold to. The first being the Baptism and the second being the Lord’s Supper. Be that as it may, the FWB additionally holds the Lord’s Supper and the Baptism of its individuals however includes a third, which is washing the feet of the Saints. End In finish of the discoveries between these two unique gatherings is clear. The tenets to which administer these gatherings are first and for most profound established, and furthermore very extraordinary. It would be intriguing in any event to see a discussion between these gatherings. It is very clear the Free Will Baptist principle center is revolved around the man. The man makes up his own brain, the man keeps on following his own choice or not. This thought of man centered is can be seen in Christianity as well as in new age and numerous different religions around the world. While then again the focal point of the New Hampshire Baptist is exclusively, center around God. Their whole convention is centered around a place of modesty, harmony, love, and satisfaction from the man towards his maker. In spite of the fact that both have their numerous distinctions, the reality is both were unique in relation to the standard of their time and were pursued since they looked for some distinctions from the intensity of the state-church around then. Importance of Communication Essay Example for Free

Significance of Communication Essay To start with, so as to impart viably, an individual has to recognize what obstructions there are, and there are many. I will put forth a valiant effort to clarify the hindrances of successful correspondence and how to beat them. These boundaries incorporate Language, preventiveness, misreading of non-verbal communication, loud transmission, collector twisting, power battles, unavoidable suppositions, administrators wavering to be real to life, suspicions, doubted source, perceptual inclinations, relational connections, and social differences1. So now, let us separate these obstructions, beginning with language boundaries. Language boundaries incorporate utilizing words that could suggest another message than the one that the sender needs to send. Also, the purpose behind this is every individual will decipher a few words in an unexpected way. Thus, so as to transmit the message that you need to send ensure that the words you use to send the message can't suggest whatever you don't need sent. The following hindrance is preventiveness. More often than not when attempting to direct an eye to eye meeting with somebody to convey a few defects in a people work execution or just to ask them an inquiry on what they have done ensure the message is brief and clear. A great many people will get guarded when the individual being Importance of Communication SPC Eric J. Seiberling †3 advised has a mutilated discernment on what is being secured, or a sentiment of suggested blame of bad behavior without getting an opportunity to clarify ones activities. An individual will likewise get exceptionally guarded when any outrage or a sentiment of cynicism is being moved to them from an issue the sender has at home or with another collaborator. Also, an individual will get incredibly guarded when there has been a pattern of adverse twists of directing before; an individual would feel as though the sender is as yet beating an issue that was settled preceding this meeting. Uproarious transmission is another obstruction to powerful correspondence. Boisterous transmission happens when the messages being tangled with wrong data or a typical irregularity in transferring the message from bobbing around the subject or hitting various subjects when needing to pass on a message around one, certain subject. Another staying point is beneficiary mutilation. This happens when the collector subliminally has specific hearing and hears what they need to hear and totally miss the proposed message. This additionally happens when the beneficiary and sender overlook the non-verbal signals each other isn't seeing or considering the manner in which each other is acting or feeling, by not seeing an unpretentious thing like non-verbal communication. Force battles is something that a better needs than keep an eye out for, this will slaughter any endeavor to impart an arrangement to a gathering. For example if a subordinate has the superior’s work in their line of sight that individual will have a misshaped perspective on the message that is attempting to be passed on. Individuals who have not had a dominant part of similar encounters won't comprehend or even have the option to unravel what the chief is attempting to state. Suspicions are a significant enemy of successful correspondence. A great many people will expect that everybody comprehends the issue a similar way that they do. When as a rule, that isn't the situation. A few people will see an issue in an alternate point of view. At the point when that happens the recipient will think about what the sender is whining about on the grounds that they don't see a similar issue and will won't see the issue in a similar light. At the point when a boss is putting together his directing with respect to a specific source that a few subordinates don't believe the director is achieving nothing in the advising. The administrator should ensure there is more than one wellspring of data. When there is more than one wellspring of data then it won't become a worth judgment against the director or the subordinate. When passing on a message an individual must ensure, they are not depicting any perceptual predispositions in the message. In saying that don't go into a gathering with any generalizations of the individuals that join in. Essential correspondence necessitates that the recipient can translate the senders meaning and if the sender is tangling the importance in their own encounters, foundation, qualities, desires, or suspicions, the beneficiary probably won't comprehend on the grounds that they didn't have similar encounters, foundation, qualities, goals, or suppositions. This is a significant issue in speaking with individuals from various topographical zones, and various ages. In this way, in the wake of clarifying all the significant obstructions of correspondence, presently will be an ideal opportunity to crush these boundaries and begin conveying viably. Besides, on the off chance that somebody isn't conveying adequately, the detachment isn't imparting in any way. Likewise, on the off chance that they are not conveying by any stretch of the imagination, the collector will have no idea on what is happening and what necessities to occur. The military says since administration is tied in with getting others to do what you need them to do, it follows that communicatingâ€transmitting data so that it’s unmistakably understoodâ€is a significant ability. 2 In request to impart adequately an individual must comprehend the various types of correspondence.

Why Domestic Abusers Commit Abuse

Why Domestic Abusers Commit Abuse Relationships Violence and Abuse Print Why Domestic Abuse Happens Its All About Control By Buddy T facebook twitter Buddy T is an anonymous writer and founding member of the Online Al-Anon Outreach Committee with decades of experience writing about alcoholism. Learn about our editorial policy Buddy T Updated on December 09, 2019 Tharakorn Arunothai / EyeEm / Getty Images More in Relationships Violence and Abuse Spouses & Partners LGBTQ Whether alcohol and drug abuse is a factor or not, domestic violence and abuse is a very serious problemâ€"for the victims and the abusers. Although studies seem to indicate some link between alcohol/drug abuse and domestic violence, others believe that they are two separate issues.?? Domestic abuse is not so much about a loss of control as it is about total control. Ironically, many batterers do not see themselves as perpetrators, but as victims. This reasoning is common among batterers. Most enter treatment programs heavily armored with elaborate denial systems designed to justify or excuse their actions.?? All About Control There are varying theories about what makes batterers use abuse with those closest to them. One view is that batterers are hardened criminals who commit their crimes in a conscious, calculated manner to achieve the dominance they believe men are entitled to. Others believe abuse is the product of deep psychological and developmental scars.?? Experts have reached a consensus on several common characteristics among batterersâ€"they are controlling, manipulative, often see themselves as victims and believe that men have a pre-ordained right to be in charge of all aspects of a relationship.?? One study found that in many cases acts of domestic violence are mate retention behaviors, that is, actions taken by one partner to try to preserve and maintain their relationship with the other partner.?? Mate Retention Behaviors For some abusers, violence is a tool to keep their intimate partner from leaving the relationship or keeping them from being unfaithful, even if it means physically forcing them to stay. One batterer who has now gone through treatment, says the beatings, the verbal abuse, and the intimidation were all about control. It was like having a new toy, he said. I had the buttons and I could make her do whatever I wanted. I was trying to intimidate her. I wanted to control her for the simple reason that I knew I could do it. It made me feel powerful. The Abuse Cycle The issues of power and control are essential to an understanding of Domestic Violence. One way this is accomplished is by becoming familiar with the Cycle of Violence. Here is an overview of the phases: Build-Up Phase - The tension builds.Stand-Over Phase - Verbal attacks increase.Explosion Phase - A violent outburst occurs.Remorse Phase - You shouldnt have pushed me, it was your fault!Pursuit Phase - It will never happen again, I promise.Honeymoon Phase - See, we dont have any problems! This cycle concerns actual physical abuse. It does not take into account other forms of domestic abuse that are used to control, such as sexual abuse, verbal abuse, psychological and emotional abuse, spiritual abuse, economic abuse, and social abuse. Few Resources or Help for Batterers There are very few resources available for batterers, but generally speaking many only seek help when ordered by the courts to do so, and most states spend no tax dollars on treatment for batterers, usually offering only incarceration in jail or prison as a solution. Putting the abuser in jail will stop the violence, but usually only temporarily since no treatment is available. The problem is, the involvement of the police and incarceration can actually trigger greater violence in some cases. Help for Victims of Abuse The threat of physical harm plus the economic and physical isolation they usually find themselves in makes getting help even more difficult for the victims of domestic abuse. Simply leaving can provoke more and greater violence. National Domestic Violence Hotline 1-800-799-SAFE (7233)

Essay Creative Writing- Humorous Journey through Hell

I awoke to the sound of the wind. No, it couldn’t be, no wind on earth could create such a terrible din! It was like a cassette recording of the roar of a lion, only copied and re-recorded several million times. The sound was dappled with occasional grinds and shrieks, too, which caused me to wince whenever they reached my ears. Curious, I pried my eyes open and turned my head to the left. I nearly jumped sky-high in the air, for through the jungle mist I spied a vacuum cleaner. It awkwardly rolled back and forth, smoke emanating from the underside. The user of this decrepit machine soon appeared. Stumbling disjointedly through the undergrowth was a little old man. His appearance was no more impressive than that of his appliance. I called out, â€Å"Mister Oreck? Where are y—,† instantly, the mist swallowed me, and I fell. Somehow the ground that had been in front of me only a moment ago was gone. I tried to grab onto something, but it was hopeless. The voices I had heard earlier swelled again. I awoke for the second time that day. This time, though, I was in what appeared to be an enormous auditorium, and I was standing. The hall had rows upon rows of seats, stretching back so far that I couldn’t see the back wall. Let me tell you, it is quite an odd experience to be falling and then suddenly transported to somewhere else. My buddy Mr. Oreck was there, too, godforsaken vacuum in hand. â€Å"Welcome to Hell,† he said, in a tone similar to a Museum Guide’s, â€Å"This first section here is for Infomercial Hosts like myself. But we all knew that it was just talk. Not only were we afraid of Mr. Wills and his rages but we knew that Mr. Wills sat in the hayloft window of his barn every night with his shotgun, guarding the melon. It was his seed melon. Why, he would rather you stole Willadean than his melon. At least, he didn’t guard Willadean with his shotgun. The Spirit Of Yeats Essays - Abbey Theatre, , Term Papers

The Spirit Of Yeats Darr1 Christin Darr Dr. Arthur Edward Salmon Eng.II 9:45a.m. 25 May 2000 The Spirit of William Butler Yeats and ?The Second Coming? ?Surely the Second coming is at hand;? when a vast image out of Spiritus Mundi Troubles my sight:? A shape with a lion body and the head of a man, / A gaze blank And pitiless as the sun,?(2.9-15). Is the world actually coming to an end? Is this sphinx-like creature truly our inevitable savior? Or, is Yeats' life and things surrounding it coming to chaos? Is the war and restless spirit of Ireland influencing Yeats' work? On the other hand, is Yeats trying to help one to understand the frustrations of their own lives on a more personal level? The depth of Yeats's work, among many other great poets, is immeasurable. Many surrounding emotions, and intentions may go into this poem, along with various other subsidies the poet may not even be aware of. This is precisely why the literature department, or lack of, in many schools is weakening. Too many teachers, professors, and now students focus either solely on rhyme and meter or the ?obvious? reason a poet might compose a poem, such as personal relationships, failures, earthly surroundings, or mental distress. The educators of students today need to be more open-minded on the interpretations one has for a particular poem. Literature has been a very strong Darr2 foundation for any prosperous civilization. For centuries poets will be immortalized in classes and books. However, as their words are remembered their spirit has been lost. When analyzing a great poet's work such as Yeats, the most obvious interpretation is usually not the correct one. Literature helps open minds to endless possibilities in every possible aspect. If students are taught to just accept explanations and are discouraged from questioning or even thinking for themselves, then the world will soon become full of conformed, mindless robots. Future leaders of the world must be taught to analyze everything. They must be taught to use their imaginations and logical thinking together. That is a most powerful combination in the hands of a determined student. The process must be in the root of this thinking. It must begin with literature. Throughout Yeats' life he has produced numerous controversial poems. Many people hold their own, very strong, opinions about poems. The truth is , there is not only one. Yeats had many different influences when writing ?The Second Coming?, and it is important for the reader to know each of them before they can even begin to understand the many meanings and interpretations of this poem. Yeats's poetry has three major influences. The more obvious one is the fact that Yeats was from Ireland, and at the time that this poem was written, World War II was affecting Ireland. However, WWII was not something knew to the Ireland's culture because for the past 300 years Ireland had been involved in many other wars and at the same time trying to gain their independence. Another influence on Yeats's writing was his personal religion, Gnosticism. According to Harold Bloom, Yeats believed Christianity to be ?the barbarian theosophy,? and declined to distinguish it form Gnosticism (1). Gnosticism Darr3 has to do with searching for self-knowledge and rejecting the society of their time. This seems to have been quite appropriate for Yeats and his writing. The third influence on Yeats's writing was the work of other philosophical writers such as Shelley, Blake, and Nietzsche. Yeats used some of the imagery and context of their previous works to help describe the meaning of ?The Second Coming.? When reading ?The Second Coming? one's first impression might be of someone who felt as though they had no control of their life and therefore life was about to come to an end. That interpretation was not well thought out and very narrow-minded. The meaning is much more complex than that. ?The Second Coming? is a very powerful piece of poetry, and one of the most universal admired poems of the 20th century. Attempting to understand William Butler Yeats's work is almost impossible unless you let one to become completely open-minded on every aspect of the poem. There are many different theories as to what the true meaning of ?The Second Coming? really is.

Contrasts of North and South essays

Contrasts of North and South essays In this assignment, I found that there were several issues that were recurrent themes within the Union as well as the South. The differences were in the beliefs of the respective sides. In the assigned reading, it is readily apparent how the themes related to the nature of Northern and Southern society or the Civil War. The first theme is secession. The ideas on secession varied in the North and South and, were in fact, usually polar opposites on the respective sides. The secession of the Southern states is central to this chapter of American History. In the North, people were concerned about the secession movement. When Lincoln gave his inaugural address, he addressed the Northern concerns. It follows from these views that no state upon its own mere motion can lawfully get out of the Union: that resolves and ordinances to that effect are legally void, and that acts of violence within any State or States against the authority of the United States are insurrectionary or revolutionary, according to circumstances. Lincoln went on to state, Plainly the central idea of secession is the essence of anarchy. Lincoln said that the South was the minority and the minority could not make the rules that would affect the majority. The rule of a minority, as a permanent arrangement, is wholly inadmissible; so that, rejecting the majority principle, anarchy or despotism in some form is all that is left.... Lincoln also warned of the consequences of secession and how it would affect the seceding parties. If a minority in such case will secede rather than acquiesce, they make a precedent which in turn will divide and ruin them, for a minority of their own will secede from them whenever a majority refuses to be controlled by such minority.... George Templeton tells in his account, The Outbreak of War Galvanizes New York City, about the common peoples reactions t...

Me, myself and I (reflexive pronouns explained) - Emphasis

Me, myself and I (reflexive pronouns explained) Me, myself and I (reflexive pronouns explained) People have some pretty strong feelings about the way our language is used and abused if a recent Emphasis blog post is anything to go by. One source of irritation that stood out as a real piece of apple skin between the teeth was the incorrect use of reflexive pronouns. What are they? Reflexive pronouns are basic pronouns + self or selves. They are: myself yourself herself himself itself yourselves themselves. So whats the right way to use them? Officially, you should use reflexive pronouns in sentences where the subject (the person or thing carrying out the action) and the object (the person or thing on the receiving end of the action) are the same. For example: I patted myself on the back for mastering grammar. He dusted himself down, then rang her doorbell. She gave herself a wink in the mirror and said, Go get em, tiger. Reflexive pronouns can also be employed for emphasis (where, technically, they could be removed, leaving the sense the same): I knitted this whole scarf myself. Did you shear the whole flock for it yourself? Its advisable not to overdo this usage, however, as it quickly becomes overbearing. And the wrong way to use them? Cue much gritting of teeth. I think this house is absolutely perfect for yourselves. Id be grateful if you could send that information over to myself. Whereas what the culprits really mean is: I think this house is absolutely perfect for you. Id be grateful if you could send that information over to me. These examples make the mistake of using these words as replacements for the basic pronouns (you, me), as if they were some kind of upmarket equivalent. Sadly, there is no such upgrade: its just plain wrong. If we, ourselves, have reminded you of anything that really gets your goat or floats your boat on the English language front, please join the fun by leaving your comments at our blog yourselves (sorry).

Key elements in consumer behavior and why it is relevant to marketing Term Paper

Key elements in consumer behavior and why it is relevant to marketing - Term Paper Example Further, the article discusses some of examples wherein the companies had addressed individualism in consumer behavior Theory Consumer behavior can be described as â€Å"The study of individuals, groups, or organizations and the processes they use to select, secure, use, and dispose of products, services, experiences, or ideas to satisfy needs and the impacts that these processes have on the consumer and society.† (Perner, 2010) Understanding of consumer behavior would help firms improve their marketing strategies, by addressing the issues like how consumer’s reasoning and selection between different alternatives, level of consumer knowledge, how to improve marketing campaigns to effectively reach out to consumers Consumer behavior and preferences has changed over the period of time and would continue to evolve in the future also. We can analyze some of the key elements of consumer behavior globally. For example, today’s consumers place considerable value on self -expression and their individual identity. This also includes exerting their power and control as consumers. This element of consumer behavior represents consumers’ desires to be themselves and to be recognized as having personal needs rather than being part of the mass market. Accordingly, consumers value products and services that complement their individuality—providing them with a sense of personal and social identity. This trend represents values such as â€Å"being me†, â€Å"trusting myself†, â€Å"finding my own answers† and â€Å"making my mark on the world† in a world of opportunity and freedom. The desire for individuality is not new. It has just become more attainable for more people due to rising prosperity in society and the fact that technological advances facilitate easier, more cost effective personalized products and services. With rising prosperity there has also been a growth of post-materialist societies where values emp hasizing self expressing and individuality have grown. Let us see some of the drivers, particularly from marketing perspective, which are driving individualism in consumer behavior: 1. There are several database methods of consumer research such as store loyalty programs which is strengthening more personal forms of marketing 2. Supply side: manufacturers are increasingly tapping into the desire for more personalized products as a point of differentiation (increasingly to help offset the escalating private label threat). Individualized value added services are increasingly becoming the norm 3. Brand hegemony, particularly in the context of private label growth and copycat innovations, has contributed to the demand for personalized goods that offer genuine points of differentiation Key take-outs and implications: the growth of individuality creates a more engaged, confident and vocal consumer 1. Self-expressive contemporary consumers will increasingly choose brands that offer compell ing platforms for expressing one’s individuality. 2. In emerging economies, the desire for self expression/individuality is more complex. Emerging economies are typically more collectivist consumer cultures that have been ‘muddied’ by the growth of more self expressive values that have typically accompanied economic prosperity. 3. Research has documented that people who exhibit more individualistic tendencies are more assertive, more

The Soul and the Aristotelian Analysis of Human Beauty Essay

The Soul and the Aristotelian Analysis of Human Beauty - Essay Example It is pure by nature and can be corrupted by repetitive negative actions that later on may turn into habits. Basically, the soul is the core of every person that controls the objective mind. It deals with emotions and feelings. Instincts can be attributed to emotions, guts and soul. The spirit or soul carries on the challenges of life when the objective and limited capacity of the objective mind and the body cannot handle anything more. The soul is also the source of one’s strength and the basic foundation of every human being since it cannot deny the needs of every person. It can also bring out the best and maximize the potentials of each human being. It controls the entire being which can be equated as the main essence and purpose in life. The common purpose in the life of human beings is to achieve perfection and in that pursuit, the soul perceives perfection and takes charge of the physical body to take action and turn the concept into reality. The soul serves as the guide in planning the destination in life. It is the inner world where people have dreams, goals and aspirations. Creative people use the inner world and the soul to make and create new things and innovations in the world. The soul plays an important role in defining human beauty. Many people nowadays link beauty to flawless skin, star-like eyes, silky smooth hair, kissable lips, sexiness, strong male image, and everything related to the physical body. The popular culture heavily describes the skin-deep beauty to be more important than the inner qualities. In actuality, both the inner and the outer qualities of human beings constitute the concept of human beauty. It would be hard though to just limit the definition or the meaning of beauty as people have different beliefs. Beliefs drive the lives of people and affect their decision-making process and the manner which they perceive things. The real concept of beauty is best explained by the old but famous saying, â€Å"beauty is in the e ye of the beholder.† It shows how the concept of beauty depends upon the person looking at it. Each human being has his or her own concept of beauty. Some may define beauty through good looks and physique while others may focus on the beauty of the heart and the soul. Others may look at both in varying levels. This only shows that all people are beautiful, and all creatures are also beautiful since the concept of beauty is flexible and subjective. The objective mind or the logical thinking only creates standards on things like beauty to have a unifying concept that can be understood by all people. In the subject of soul and beauty, Aristotelian analysis can be used to study the relationship since the concept involves the logic, the credibility and the emotions. Purpose, context, and subject also affect the relationship of the writer to the readers of the paper. Every aspect and view can greatly influence how soul can help in the understanding of human beauty. Each person is a whole composed of body, mind and spirit or soul that gives the full understanding the credit when all of them are engaged in knowing and learning about concepts such as beauty. By including everyone whether their perception of beauty may be contrasting to the beauty concept of others, all must be included as life does not travel in one path, but in multiple ways as individualism is well-expressed by the existence of the soul. Uniqueness shows how people are

terror :: essays research papers

The next terrorist that had a great impact on the development of terrorism is Adolf Hitler. This man went down in history for the brutal killings of many Jews. This horrible event was called the Holocaust. This act of violence was made because Hitler wanted every Jew exterminated. Adolf Hitler, murder of millions, master of destruction and organized insanity, did not come into the world as a monster. He was not sent to earth by the devil, nor was he sent by heaven to â€Å"bring order† to Germany, to give the country the autobahn and rescue it from its economic crisis.   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  On the evening of April 20th, 1889 an innocent child was born in the small town of Braunau Am Inn, Austria. The name of the child was Adolf Hitler. His only boyhood friend, August Kuvizek, recalled Hitler as a shy, reticent young man. He was a audience for Hitler, who often rambled for hours about his hopes and dreams. Sometimes Hitler even gave speeches complete with wild hand gestures to his audience of one.   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Adolf Hitler had always been straightforward about his plans for the Jews. His deram of a racially â€Å"pure† empire would tolerate no Jews. He roundup Jews and were herded like cattle and put into concentration camps. These were set up in 1933 to detain without legal procedure Jews, Communists, Gypsies, homosexuals and others. During world war II extermination, or death camps were established for the sole purpose of killing men, women and children. In the most Germany, more that 6 million people, mostly Jews and Poles, were killed in gas chambers.   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Auschwitz-Birkenau became the killing center where the largest numbers of European Jews were killed. After an experimental gassing there in September 1941 of 250 malnourished and ill Polish prisoners and 600 Russian POWs, mass murder became a daily routine; more than 1.25 million were killed at Auschwitz-Birkenau, 9 out of 10 were Jews. In addition, Gypsies, Soviet POWs, and ill prisoners of all nationalities died in the gas chambers. Between May 14 and July 8,1944, 437,402 Hungarian Jews were deported to Auschwicz by 48 trains.   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  The final terrorist that I am going to talk about is one of the most hated people still alive today. Osama Bin Laden is one of the CIA's most wanted men. Even though he is the most famous terrorist today, he is also a hero to many young people in the Arab world.

The Handmaids tale Foreword: In an age of consumerism and commercialization, the younger generations are demanding fast satisfaction and instant returns. They want see and own within a couple of taps on their screens which are specialized, personalized, made to meet their every demand. We are in an age where possessions define you. The commercial world loves us and consequently mass production and competition increases happily. Un-till we stop to ask, what costs do these freedoms come? Recently portrayed on the big screen The Handmaids Tale shouts out a universal and timeless message .As warning to us, Margaret Atwood presents the inconvenient truths about the ways in which we live our lives today. Dystopian totalitarian government, Gilead offers prime grounds for Atwood’s ironic and controversial comment . The novel paints a picture of a world undone by pollution, infertility, environmental degradation, declining birthrates and the dangers of nuclear power. It is a classic Re flection of the original production era, the 1980’s, in which the understanding of humanities environmental footprint went commercialGilead is set in a time where life had become so licentious that the morally aggrieved have overthrown, this in just over a decade. The similarities to reality in this novel lead the reader on a confronting journey, both of discovery and realization, positioning them to question society and all that is our normality. Living under the fundamentalist Gilead Ian regime, the commoner is stripped from all that they own and once lived for. It is a society in which freedom has been replaced by control.Due to a drastic decline in fertility rates, the few fertile woman left, are now treated as communal property and are selected for the role of womb, classified as ‘Handmaids’. Women find themselves no longer allowed to read, work, own property, or handle money. Consequently they are entrapped in a system, which defines them by their role: wom b, wife, prostitute, and servant. Various commanders move handmaids from house to house for fertilization and childbirth is miraculous. Reaping the benefits of this rarity are those in power .The rare commodity of a baby is distributed to the commander and his wife. Confronting and contrasting our ways of life today, Atwood evolves a threatening statement about the system. This ‘story’, discusses the social expectations that dominate our lives . In a fictional tale not dissimilar to history, it embodies the timeless tune of human nature. Painting a disturbingly graphic picture of the future and has her audience left appreciating all that we take for granted every day.Through the eyes of handmaid, Offred, we are transported into a totalitarian fundamentalist regime. Offred hangs on those who poison her existence. She has been stripped down to Breeding for breath. Passively resisting the regime Offred in her self is a comment on what it is that truly empowers us. Through off red’s circumstances Atwood has us asking the questions. What is the repercussion of our becoming so acquainted with freedom, that we stop fighting for it? What will the remedy be for when we finally are forced into facing the inconvenient truth?Through entertaining the ethical dilemmas of today, Atwood asks how we will work in solving the problems we are currently making for ourselves. All fundamental issues that the younger generations, the future leaders of our world need to be ware. A theocratic government, which demands false dichotomy, patriotism and ultimately Christian fundamentalism. The themes of this novel are Parallels with the monstrosities we are facing today, consequently presenting us with some disturbing realizations about reality.Presented in a fictional format this book is similar to the healthy version of a mud cake. Juicy, gooey, sweet and enticing, only unlike the pulp fiction today’s audiences crave, this piece of work leaves you thinking. The story hangs on the realities of our world. Yes the world is changing. Will there be anyone left soon from the liberation eras to endorse, and let us understand how to fight for our rights? Will the future of our world know how? I can only imagine these were Atwood’s questions when she set out in writing this prophetic piece. This is her legacy.This is how she answered the question. This is education, reaching out to the masses like someone able to speak a universal language . She has caused the problems in the hope that we will change. Such powerful words of warning becoming more relevant as time goes on, this novel will stand the tests of time and live throughout the 21st century. Atwood remarkably, is able to offer a confronting and ultimate insight into the society today, all this without one generically boring statistics. This is an Ultimately Disturbing dystopia that leaves its audiences captivated by the possibilities.
